Is it possible to negotiate getting a store credit card if I have 0 credit?
I’m 18 and I have no credit.. I have a job and I want to get a guitar center card to get a $1000 piano, but I got declined because I have 0 credit. Is it possible to negotiate anything with the bank / company? Or would I just embarass myself trying.
You will do better negotiating a loan at your bank or credit union where they already know you (assuming you’ve had an account for over a year).
A word of unsolicited advice: It is not a good idea to buy a « toy » on credit. Save your earnings until you can pay cash.
When you want a credit card, ask your bank. They can put in a good word for you. Then pay off anything you charge before the bill is due so you will not have to pay interest.
