Do cats hate piano music?
Every time I sit down to practice piano, my cat runs from wherever she is in the house and sits on my lap and tries to knock my hands off the keyboard with her head. She’ll even start nipping at my arms and legs! If you put her off the bench, she’ll crawl up again. But she PURRS so loudly! She will continue doing this for 15 minutes, or until she’s bored, if you let her.
All this to ask, do cats hate piano music? I wasn’t playing anything particularly loud or obnoxious. Does it hurt her ears or does she just want me to pay her attention?
My wiener dog howls when I play the piano. Then again, he also howls when I vacuum.
Sometimes it scares my cat when I bang, but if I am playing something soft and pretty, it lulls her to sleep. It really depends on the personality of the cat.
