Pillar Covers Trim

Pillar Covers Trim
How can we hide/finish cement supports along our baseboards?

We just finished our basement and the contractor did not build the wall out far enough for the drywall to hide the ugly cement supports for the pillars. So now we have cement blocks peeking out from the drywall. Baseboard trim will not cover it. Does anyone have suggestions on how we could finish this mess?

If I’m getting the picture correctly you have supports, that are sitting on footers, slightly larger than the posts and coming up 6 or more inches that are bare concrete. I would be pissed at the contractor for not correcting this, but it sounds like you are stuck now. If you have the tools, you could rap the footer, with thin plywood, add some base molding at the bottom and rap the top edge with a corner molding or a crown, then paint the same color as the rest of the woodwork. With a bit of work you could make it a design statement.
