How can I hook up this stage equipment?

Alright I;m going to tell you what I have, and what I need. This is for my youth group, and it’s I room for about 70. And it’s a semi big stage. Alright, so we were all having volume wars, so the pastor (my dad) decided to go and buy a new mixing board. We have an old soundboard that everything was connected too, minus guitars. So he got this new mixing board to take out amps, and he can control the sound of every guitar, and piano. The 6 mics we have are still going into the old soundboard. My question is with monitors. We have Monitor A and Monitor B. Thats how they are labeled on the old soundboard. The new soundboard is running into channel 10 of the old soundboard, so all the music as a whole can be turned up or down. But it seems like we are not getting a monitor mix on stage. How will we need to wire the monitors, new mixer, and old soundboard so the new mixer can control what instruments are going into the monitors? Thanks

Impossible to know since you did not tell us the mixing board manufacturer or model number and you did not tell us which mix from the boards you want to use.

The speakers for the house – the « Mains » will be connected to the board’s Mains out.

The monitors will be connected to AUX sends and a monitor mix needs to be used – this will sound very different from the mains. For example, Monitor A could be just the volcals and monitor B could be drums and keyboard…

But since you did not tell us which board, we don’t know what capabilities there are – the monitors need to be powered or have their own amps… basically treat them as a different sound system.

How to use the AUX sends will be in the board’s manual. You also did not tell us where you are – perhaps there is a local audio store employee who can help… or another church has someone with real audio engineer skills willing to assist… or maybe there is an audio engineer/DJ business person around who does live bands and is willing to help…
