Valentina Lisitsa is so good at PIANO???
Why does Valentina Lisitsa sound SOOO attractive when her pieces are far more techincal and seemingly less sentimental than other great pianists- Rubinstein, Kempff, Horowitz… But yet her playing sounds even better than theirs!!!! Is she really that good??? Her Appassionata Sonata is PERFECT!!!! And her La Campanella is just god-like!!!
What characteristics that make her playing so attractive???
I know Valentina and her husband Alexei. Val is just naturally musical, she can’t help herself. She has a fantastic technique with great virtuosity yet a woman’s touch, a woman’s sentimentality. She’s the best I’ve ever seen – definitely my personal favourite. I’ve sat right beside her at the keyboard and watched her amazingly economical use of hands that wastes no energy in grand gestures – it is all there in the hands, all in Val’s Spirit – does that help ?? I agree with a comment a friend made – Val is an enchanting player !
