Problems with HP laptop dv6z. This is a multiple question post.?

Sound seems to stop working when the battery gets too low. Not sure why. But no sound would come out and windows media player would not play songs giving me an error. Then when the battery charged a little more, the sound worked and WMP worked. Any ideas why?

Also does the HP dv6z not come with a plastic cover to put in place of the battery when you want to take it out? I have a theory that leaving the battery in when it is fully charged and is connected to the power source makes it’s life much shorter. So I’d like to take the battery out and just use the power jack most of the time. But it didn’t come with something to cover up the battery port.

Lastly, I’m trying to get Vista 64 service pack 2, but when I go to Windows update it says that Windows doesn’t have any more updates to install. Why will it not install SP2 if I still have SP1?

1.Just fully charge the battery.
2. Most laptops don’t come with a battery cover they assume you will leave the battery in there all the time.
3. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a4dd31d5-f907-4406-9012-a5c3199ea2b3&displaylang=en if you have 32 bit vista or http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=656c9d4a-55ec-4972-a0d7-b1a6fedf51a7&displaylang=en for 64 bit vista.

Also, read on to see if it’s ok to leave the battery on or take it off http://www.thedavidlawrenceshow.com/should_i_leave_my_battery_in_my_laptop_all_the_time_006696.html
