What CD could I find a good version of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 8 on?
I have very little knowledge of classical music but I have long been interested in giving it a listen. A famous Billy Joel song that I like was influenced by Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 8 and so I thought I would try this as a starter. Could anyone recommend me a good CD with someone good performing it, on?

Of these, you couldn’t go too far wrong with Brendel, Kempff, Barenboim or Ashkenazy.
Edit:
I couldn’t argue with any of mephisto’s additional suggestions. I suspect your choice might come down to what other pieces on the CD you prefer.
