Does anyone know how to hook up a keyboard (piano) to a camcorder to directly input the sound?
I have a Casio Privia PX-320 and a Sony HDR-CX520V. I want to film some short (four minutes or less) videos of me playing various tunes, but I want to directly connect the keyboard for the best sound.
You can’t do it, you would need a microphone level output from the back of the keyboard, you will have either line level or monitor level, one will distort the other will blow up your camcorder.
I’ve checked the tech specs of your camera and there does not appear to be an audio input, either via the camera body or the docking station, so really, it’s a non starter.
You would be better to record the audio seperately using a zoom or other digital recorder (such as an olympus solid state recorded with audio in) and synching it at the edit stage.
Other than that its going to have to be on the camera mic.
