How can I become a retail Loss Prevention detective?

I think there must be a stamp on my forehead that says, DO NOT HIRE. I applied for 16 LP jobs since 03/28/09. I visitted 13 retail store locations. And I met 8 LP managers (at the locations). Still no job! I dress buisinus casual, usually look for LP personel on the sales floor first, find the LP manager and tell them « I’m here to follow up on an application for Loss Prevention » .. »are there any opened positions » .. »hope to here from you ».
