How much would it cost to repair my 40 year old upright piano?
It was my grandmas and my aunt got it for a few years and used it as a coaster and ash tray D:
the pedals dont work ( i think they slipped off of something) some of the keys dont work ( new strings?) and has a knob missing ( it slides open) im 18 and dont know much about pianos except i love them and to play them and its a shame this piano got messed up how much would it cost to get it fixed? ( and the wood things that hold the things that hit the strings have been chewed on a little by mice)
it has 3 pedals
40 years old isn’t so old for a piano. It’s probably worth having a tuner/technician take a look at it and give you an assessment. Whether or not it’s viable to restore it depends a lot on the make, and the original build quality.
