How do you know which position to on piano?
Hi, I am just know starting to play piano and when I play I am seeing these numbers that tells me which finger goes on which note. I didn’t need that in the beginning but now I do because i’m at the point where you have to switch positions and the number help me do so. I need to know, will those numbers be there all the time that will tell me which position to play? If not, how do I know which position to play?
Hiya no they are not always there, you will find as you progress you will find that you naturally find a way of fingering it yourself, if it’s a complex part maybe it would help for you to work out the easiest most comfortable way for you to do it then pencil in the numbers above the notes yourself just as a reminder. Like I say the more you play the more you will naturally learn to position.
