I have a doll made from germany. It has 3 faces, that you can change by a nob on top of the head. value of.?
the body of the doll is stuffed with a thin material. The head and hands are a bisque color, porcelain like. the change of faces are: crying, sleeping, smiling. It has a white nightgown with lace trim. A bonnet white w/lace trim. Cant find marking on it. I would like to sell it, if I new the value of it.
1st, you need to visit the library and google your doll.
Try phrases like « 3 faced doll » or « antique german dolls » etc.
That should give you an idea at least.
you can take it to a few collectors for their opinions. but be carefull with that. In my experience, if a collector offers you money for it – the item is usually worth 2 to 3 times the amount. Now of course, you will be taking a chance that you will get the value of the doll if you sell it yourself.
Another thing you might consider is to take it to a local auctioneer. They are usually good at assessing value as they are used to seeing similar items and their selling price.
