where & when was my antique piano stool made, it has « THE CHA PARKER CO , MERIDAN CT » under seat?

it has 4 legs with metle claws holding glass balls on the feet, it is some kind of oak(english oak i think), it has no upholstery
also i would love to know what sort of wood it is made of
