Help with jazz improvisation!?

I have been playing jazz piano for a few years now. I have spent time trying to achieve the Sonny Clark bebop sound and the elegant Erroll Garner sound… I want to expand my playing though. I feel like I have a pretty good bebop sound, but I want to add to it. For those who play jazz, what kinds of scales and shapes do you use to get YOUR sound?

When I first started improvising, basic chords really helped, because when you arpeggiate them, they can sound tasty.

Ideally, there are hundreds of scales a jazz musician should know. In every key, the scales you would want to practice are:

Major, harmonic minor, natural minor, Dorian, every other mode, and all your whole and half diminished scales. Two modes you should definitely know are Dorian and Mixolydian (2nd and 5nd scale degrees, respectively).

Also, just listen a lot, and practice new embellishments, turns and such. Use passing tones between chords. And when you see altered chords, really exploit the altered tones.
