Can i get into Boston College?
I have a 3.85 GPA and i recently took my SAT’s and got a 1870 but im planning to raise it when i take it again in June. I’m also planning to take the math IIC, us history and korean SAT II’s by the end of this year. Im in the top quarter of my class. I’m the president of key club, involved with leadership at my church, and captian of my tennis team. I’m in international club, marching band, swim team, nhs, and link crew. I’m in our school’s flag team. I’ve been in tae kwon do for over 7 years and i instruct class sometimes, I have over 300 hours of community service. I have played piano for over 8 years now and i am at a level to teach other students.
Is this enough to get into Boston College? anything i can do to improve myself?
Sounds good to me. The only problem is, all the other applicants are impressive also. So the trick at a highly selective school like BC is to set yourself apart. Best way to do that? Have teachers that know you well, write very personalized recommendations that highlight your achievements and potential. Also make sure your essays/personal statement sets you apart from the other candidates. Be honest and tell a convincing (not overly bragging/conceited), narrative of who you are and what you will offer. Dont forget to let them know what you are looking forward to getting out of BC also.
