Which one is better(more advanced): Chopin Waltz Op. 42 or Beethoven Sonata 7(1st movement)?
Okay, this is actually a bit of a stupid question if you think about the reason behind why I’m asking the question. But anyway, so recently my teacher gave me the piece, Chopin Waltz Opus 42. Maybe about a week later, I had a performance in New York (I performed something else, obviously), and my teacher told me that she thought that I did a good job in my performance, so she changed my new piece to Beethoven Sonata 7. and I’m just curious, which piece is more advanced. which one is more fun?
and same for Beethoven Sonata 7 and Beethoven Sonata 6. which one is harder
the chopin waltz and the beethoven sonata are about the same technical difficulty. if anything, the beethoven is slightly more technically challenging. chopin will almost always be more complicated to interpret though. in terms of which is more fun, it all depends on your individual taste. personally, i think anything by chopin is more fun to play than anything by beethoven, but that’s just me. as for beethoven’s 6th sonata, i haven’t played that one so its hard to say.
