Which protestant church is most like the mormon church?
I was raised Mormon and I prefer their ways of worship. All my friends have been inviting me to their churches but I have yet to like a single one. I like the very tradition feel to mormonism; suits and ties, hymns sung with a piano accompaniment, king james bible, beautiful chapels.. any suggestions?
A few tidbits… not that they’ll help much, but it’s something…
1- I’ve heard that Catholics and Jews make great Mormons- they understand the language of symbolism.
2- That said, I’ve also heard that of all the Protestant sects, the Methodists are most like the LDS faith in what they teach.
3- When I was serving my mission in WI, my companion and I were invited to Christmas Mass (I got to experience 2 Christmases in the field, loved it!). The services were nice.. but that was about it. It felt hollow. There was no spirit.. or Spirit.
Please remember- #1 and 2 are hearsay, as I’ve been LDS all my life.
