What’s an easy way to transpose bass clef notes into treble clef notes on the piano?
like if there was an F in bass clef (the one on the third line of the staff), what’s a technique to change it to treble clef, in the same octave?
To have the same F sound (in the same octave), you need to find the middle C. Then add the two lines below the middle C line (ledger lines) and you have the same F line as the one in the bass clef.
Btw, the F in the bass clef is on the 4th line. The middle C is above this note, on it’s own ledger line. Count the lines from the F in the bass clef up to the middle C line, you get 3 in total. So in the treble clef, you write the 3 ledger lines below the stave and you have the same F.
Centuries ago, before it became customary to use only the 5 line stave, you found music written like this, using 11 lines.

Sometimes the outer lines were omitted, especially if the melody did not use those notes. But it was understood that the middle line was the tonic note. Later it became middle C, with the top 5 lines for the treble clef and the lower 5 for the bass clef.
