The odds are low of acquiring an STD from a « used » video. HIV, and other viral STDs, die very quickly when exposed to oxygen. Bacterial STDs can be transmitted, although the risk is very low. These include chlamydia (the clap) or syphilis. There generally needs to be « matter » or « chunks » on the disk for the bacteria to hide in. But they will starve and die in several days.
So, overall, the risk is essentially negligible.
