What kind of window treatments do you recommend?

So I live in a new home. Pretty much, I have white walls with honey color wood trim, ie. floor boards, window base, and cupboards. I have vertical blinds that I’ve installed (whitecream color). My couch is a lighter beige. I really want to add some color to the living room by putting up some curtains. I have two big windows 70 » X 71 » and a sliding glass door 58″ X 78″ (maybe). I’m thinking I just need something to accent the window, not really cover the windows for privacy sakes (since I already have the blinds). I would probably be classified as a plain jane since I mostly have just a few pics on the walls and there does not seem to be a lot of style or personality in the room. I’m not sure what colors would look good with my boring decor and what I should use, example: scarves, valances or whatnot. Have any ideas?

I would definitely use a valance that matches and maybe add some sheer (white/cream colored) curtains with a color curtain behind it.
