What advice can you give me for my college audition on the piano?
I’m trying out at next week for school on the piano and I’m really nervous! I’ve hardly performed in front of people or « judges » in my life. They will do an interview and then I will play two pieces from memory. What advice can you give me? Obviously, I will stay true to myself and be prepared. Anything else? I really want to make a great impression, especially since I’d like a scholarship. Thanks!
Be sure to run your prepared pieces daily, maybe even twice a day. If you’re nervous about performing for people, ask your parents/siblings/friends to sit in and listen while you play. Also, be sure to dress the part. Not concert black, but wear something presentable; it will help make for a better first impression.
