how can i stop my dog from ripping my post to shreds when it comes through the door?

Everytime the slightest thing comes through our letterbox. My dog launches and ripps it to shreds. He is a 3 year old labrador mix.↲
We have tried everything to stop this, even putting fake paper through there and practising all the time. But unlike usually we are expecting the post at that time so we could stop him. Other times we are not.↲
We have recently bought an internal postbox but he just ripped the letters out of it.↲
My mum is an piano teacher and she often gets certificates and results in the post. My dog ripped three certificates up AGAIN the other day while i was on the loo. She went MENTAL and said it was the last straw. She is threatening to take him to the shelter if this goes on any longer. Plz HELP !!!

Can you but a latch or lock on the inside postbox? One he can’t get open to remove the mail.
