Piano lessons question?
Alright, so I’ve been playing/messing around the on piano for the last 8 or 9 months. I have gotten a decent bit of coordination in my hands, and I understand a good many of the basic chords(majors, minors, and dominant chords, although I know there are many others).
I can play some decent songs, Ben Fold’s The Luckiest intro

Some Randy Newman
But my main question, does anyone have any reasonable ideas for piano lessons? I certainly cannot afford 20 dollars a week for private lessons. Are there any really good online tutorials, or DVDs or even books I can buy that will teach me everything I need to know about playing piano?
I would like to know how to really improvise, and just play whatever I feel like at the moment.

Honestly.. piano lessons don’t help THAT much. I mean, they are useful for information about improving piano skills and yes that’s a big part but.. you can find out this information online, in books, or basically just from other people who play piano. Plus, taking lessons kinda sucks because you practice things they tell you to practice, (usually) instead of doing what you want with your musical interests. get me? hope that helped:)
