Why do my vocal chords hurt after singing?
I’m 15 years old, and I love singing, but the problem is, I can’t hit a lot of high notes, but when I do, singing after that makes my throat just throb. Also, singing more than 5 or so songs makes my vocal chords hurt. Are there any vocal exercises or daily routines I can pick up on to stop this? Am I damaging my vocal chords?
This used to happen to me, and I’m working on it. But I found that I was using my throat too much to sing, if you don’t use air from your diaphragm than you with damage your vocal chords. So the next time you sing practice taking deeper breaths and draw that air into your abdomen. When you breath out it will take some of the pressure off your vocal chords, it really helps, and it sounds a lot better. There are plenty of YouTube videos out there that explain how to sing right, so you could look it up on there too,
