used accordion question?
I just picked up an old hohner 12 bass accordion to learn on, I’m very much a beginner so im curious if the instrument is working as it should. The bellows are in good shape with compression, all of the keys and bass keys seem to produce sound on their own. When I try to play the bass buttons at the same time as piano, the piano keys are silent. Is this normal? The bass works if im pressing a piano before pushing a bass button but not the other way around. Thank you.
The reason is because when you play both sides, you are losing too much air which accounts or that. What you need to do is to open the accordion and try to close it without pressing any notes. If it closes, you are losing air on the right or left hand side. Thats an easy job to fix.
The notes or the note pads are probably worn and need replacement.
