Is a vintage piano worth restoring?

My mother died and gave me her precious George Steck Baby Grand Piano. I love it because it was hers and she loved it and saved and paid for it herself in the 1930′s-early 40′s?
Some guy here said it isn’t worth getting the insides all new and new keys.
Is he right?

It depends on the its value to you as more than just a piano. Yes, it would be more expensive to refurbish it than to buy a new piano, but if you have an emotional connection to the piano it may be worth it.
A piano is more than just wood and metal. A piano is a tool to express ideas, thoughts, and emotions. A piano is a way to directly connect to your heart, and to those who still live in your heart. I would recommend getting it refurbished if you truly do love it.
