Flamenco guitar tuning?
Hi all. I checked eHow on how to tune a flamenco guitar and it says to start by tuning the 6th string so that it sounds like the « D » note that is five full steps below middle « C » on a piano. Is this true? And how do I know which note that is? If middle « C » is « C3″ then which « D » would that be?
Also, i have a fear of breaking the string if I tune to tight and high. I suppose the strength of the strings depends on the guitar’s quality? How tight can it get? I’m a total amateur.
The easiest notes to remember is Mi La Re Sol Si Mi? and thats all the open strings in your guitargoing down from bass to lead, its my Spanish way of tuning I play the Spanish Acoustic guitar and I sound like Jose Feliciano only thing is I’m not blind yet. If that string breaks and snaps into your eye then you’ll really be like him. Maybe then you can play better if your hearing is sharper only cause your blind.
