What is your favorite recording of Chopin’s great polonaise in A-flat major, Op.53 (Heroic)?
As my favorite solo piano work composed by Frédéric Chopin, I’d have to say that I generally like all recordings of this piece. My favorite interpreters of this work include Arthur Rubinstein, Vladimir Horowitz, Martha Argerich, Daniel Barenboim, Georges Cziffra, Rafal Blechacz, Yundi Li, and other pianists far too many to name. If you have a favorite interpreter of this work, answer the question and I will add it to the list =)

Philippe Entremont’s 1968 recording for Columbia all the way.
Not a single dull bar, gorgeous voicing, all the zal you want… Heroic.
I must admit that Garrick Ohlsson’s version as part of the complete recordings of Chopin’s Polonaises for Angel in the 70s (on 2 LPs…) is a close second.
