How difficult is Chopin’s Piano Sonata No. 2, Bb Minor (Marche Funebre) for my level?
Hi,
I’ve always loved this piece, but I don’t know whether or not I should start to attempt to learn it. My level is around grade 7, it varies for certain styles, and the pieces I’m playing now are Mozart’s Fantasia in Dm, and Debussy’s Golliwog’s Cake Walk and Clair de Lune.
I heard this piece at a piano competition in my section, so I don’t know if it will be too difficult for me, but then again that competition is very unfair because of the varying levels of ability in sections depending on what exam you did last (some of the competitors like me and the guy who played this stopped doing grades, so they are still in the lower grade 4-6 section).
So what I’m asking is should I just download the sheet music for this anyway, and keep it for later, or should I just go ahead and start learning it?
The Chopin Piano Sonata in Bb Minor is a rather difficult piece all together but the Funeral March is quite easier. Look over the sheet music give it a try if you find it easy then go for it play it.
